This remarkable home embodies a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology, creating a space that is both inviting and thermally robust …furthermore this is a home! …a home for two people, two cats and….two tracks for trains!
…a focal point of distinction within …number 10 is the brick chimney stack, which gracefully bifurcates the living from the kitchen and dining spaces. Here, the integrated thermal mass of the slow-burn masonry heater pays homage to the nostalgic form of the old brick fireplace that once graced the site. Wrapped in rustic brickwork, this feature not only serves as a source of warmth but also as a visual anchor, grounding the space in history and tradition.
…number 10 also serves as a station house for a humble model train. Cleverly concealed yet instantly recognisable, the dual carriageway of the model train serves as both a playful attraction and feature lighting, bathing the space in a warm glow that delights both young and old alike.
…central to the architectural narrative of …number 10 is the Exposed Pine LVL Timber Structural Framework, which weaves a striking series of exposed ribs throughout the central living, kitchen, and dining space. These vaulted cathedral-like volumes create an awe-inspiring atmosphere, inviting occupants into a space filled with warmth and grandeur.
…within the intimate bedroom spaces, the joinery exudes warmth and lustre, resonating with the exposed LVL framework. This cohesive design palette creates a sense of harmony and tranquillity, inviting occupants to unwind and relax in their private retreats. Complementing the oak joinery is its counterpart, 'Bottega Oak' grounds both the architectural moves and functional elements of the home. Bold and expressive, these expansive joinery pieces seamlessly blend with the bold darkness of the v-groove gable ends, creating a captivating visual juxtaposition.
